UNCLE's Data Management requests deal with the way data records are entered, stored, maintained, and reported from.

Some of UNCLE's Data Management requests are:

 

ALTER

deletes or restores a record, or changes one or more positions of data in a case.

CALCULATE

allows you to store the results of an arithmetic expression in a data field.

CASEID

specifies the data field which contains the case number.

CLEAN

checks the data against a set of qualifications and prints an error report, if any errors are found.

CWEIGHT

uses the results of an arithmetic expression to change the weight value associated with cases.

DATA

defines the structure of the external data file and the UNCLE database.

DELIMIT

creates an ASCII delimited file for use with other programs.

DISPLAY

prints a complete case or series of cases.

DISTRIBUTION

creates an array of all the distinct values or character strings in a data field or fields.

DUPLICATE

checks for multiple occurrences of specified codes.

GAP

checks for missing or duplicated case numbers.

GETSPSS

imports both data and labeled variables from a labeled SPSS file, creating ready-to-run tables from the latter.

IF

alters qualified cases.

INSPECT

prints all data in the specified positions of a data record.

LOAD

creates or adds new cases to the UNCLE database from a raw data file.

LOCATE

prints the case position and case number for a respondent.

MARGINAL

prints a percentaged report of marginal totals.

MERGE

replaces complete records within the UNCLE database.

MOVE

moves the contents of one or more record positions to another position within the case.

MXLIST

lists members of a matrix library.

MXWRITE

creates a file that can be read and edited from the UNCLE matrix library.

PUNCH

recreates the external data file from the UNCLE database.

RECORDID

specifies the record position or field which contains the record number.

REPROPORTION

reproportions values in a series of data fields to sum to a specified n.

RTE

creates Run Time Edition of UNCLE married to copy of active database and table library; for release to clients for use in their post-analysis.

SCORE

stores ranking of a series of data values; stores high and low values from this same series of values.

SPLIT

creates new UNCLE projects from all or part of the current project.

SPREAD

spreads multiple code fields into single code fields.

SPSS

creates SPSS® Syntax Document and corresponding data file for generation of SPSS® Data Document (.sav file)

STAT

prints information about the data for the current project.

WEIGHT

adjusts the weight values of the respondents.

VARPROJ

begins the creation of files for use with UNCLE REPORTS.

VARCAT

specifies current UNCLE tables to be used in the creation of variables for use in UNCLE REPORTS.

VARNUM

specifies data fields containing numeric data to be used as numeric variables in UNCLE REPORTS.

VARCLOSE

closes files created by VARPROJ.
