These requests are used in UNCLE processing, and are not directly related to table maintenance or data management.  SET requests make temporary changes that terminate with the end of the UNCLE session.  SET requests stored in startup files are processed automatically.

EXECUTE

processes stored requests.

PROJTITLE

specifies the project title for the project.

QUIT

ends the UNCLE session.

SHELL

allows operating system commands without leaving UNCLE.

TIME

returns the current time and date.

SET ALIAS

assigns alternate names to tables and filters.

 

SET ALPHA

returns data as alpha/numeric/grammatical characters with DISPLAY and INSPECT requests.  The default is the characters' component punches.

SET ASSIGN

converts non-numeric codes to specified values.

SET FOOTNOTE

sets a session footnote.

SET GEXPAND

adjusts bar graphs to accommodate small values.

SET GROUP

controls the number of tables processed together.

SET HISTORY

creates a text file summary for the history of a project.

SET LOG

creates ASCII text file summary of user’s input and UNCLE responses.

SET MINBASE

resets the minimum base size for testing of significance.

SET MONITOR

displays the current row and banner table numbers during a RUN request.

SET OPTION

implements one or more RUN options.

SET OUTPUT

directs output to the printer or a disk file.

SET OVERWRITE

suppresses overwrite permission prompts.

SET PAGE

sets the number of print lines on a page.

SET PLIB

names a private library for table specifications.

SET PLINE

limits the length of each line printed on reports.

SET QUAL

sets a session qualification.

SET QUALCHECK

stops syntax checking in qualifications.

SET READONLY

prohibits user changes to the current database.

SET RECALL

resets the number of previously issued requests that will be stored in memory for retrieval and reuse.

SET STATUNW

uses unweighted frequencies when calculating VARIANCE, SD, and SE options with weighted samples.

SET SUPPRESS

suppresses the printing of tables when their base falls below a specified level.

SET TIMESTAMP

calculates and prints processing time for requests.

SET TITLE

sets a session title.

SET UNWEIGHT

uses unweighted base totals instead of effective base totals when calculating significance tests with weighted samples.

SET USING

combines data from other projects.

SET WIDTH

controls the line length in E-files created by WRITE request.

SET WORDLS

sets the line spacing for Word output in inches.

SET WORDPS

sets the point size of the font to be used in Word output.

  SET WRAP overrides the default display settings to take full advantage of monitor's and their settings
