Options give you extreme flexibility and control over the appearance of processed tables.  These can be used to suppress or alter UNCLE's many default functions, or to request additional functions.

ADDEPSILON

prints a row for frequencies suppressed by SZR.

ASCEND

prints rows in ascending order of frequency for a given column.

ASSIGN

converts non-numeric codes to specified values.

AUTOBAN

drops banner overprints to the lowest unused line.

AUTOCW

generates varying column widths automatically.

  AUTOFDP

reduces the number of decimal places displayed for a value when the current FDP settings result in a value too large for a given cell.

  AUTOSIGMA

automatically appends a Sigma row at the bottom of each processed table.

BLEED

releases the left column margins so frequencies can print in the column separation.

BOTTOM

with RANK, prints only those rows with the lowest n frequencies.

BTITLE

insets a title row above the BOTTOM n rows.

CENTER

centers all of a column's elements in Microsoft® Word output.

CEXPRESS

starts column expressions in a particular row.

CFORCE

forces column percents to add to a chosen base, e.g. 100%.

CHISQUARE

calculates Chi Square.

CHP

calculates cumulative horizontal percents.

CINDEX

calculates an index against a base column.

COLW

sets the width of each banner point.

COMMA

prints commas in tabulated frequencies.

COMP

simplified significance and t-tests; used with TAG option.

CVP

calculates cumulative vertical percents

DEFINE

specifies the value to be given to symbols in row or column qualifications.

DOLLAR

prints a '$' before frequencies.

DSGTEST

tests the significance between percentages (dependent test).

DTTEST

calculates the T-value (dependent test).

EBASE

returns the effective base for a given qualification.

EPSILON

sets frequency limits for row suppression.

EXCEL

creates Excel workbooks and worksheets from active tabulations.

EXCOLS

allows a table to contain up to 255 columns.

EXITEMS

specifies the number of cell elements to be placed in Excel® or Lotus® files.

EXPRESS

performs arithmetic functions.

FDP

controls the number of decimal places printed for frequencies and special qualifications.

FGRAPH

converts tabulations to fully-annotated bar graphs, based on frequencies.  Used in conjunction with WORD and WORDALT options.

FORMAT

controls the width of the row titles and columns.

FREQ

prints frequencies.

GRAPH

converts tabulations to fully-annotated bar graphs, based on horizontal percents.  Used in conjunction with WORD and WORDALT options.

HBASE

specifies a column to be used as the base for horizontal percentages.

HEXPRESS

performs arithmetic expressions for horizontal percentages.

HP

calculates horizontal percentages.

HPRN

prints horizontal rank numbers based on horizontal percents.

HRN

prints horizontal rank numbers based on frequencies.

IDP

controls the number of decimal places printed for indices.

INDEX

calculates an index against a base cell.

LF

prints numeric lines so the last numeric line prints on the same line as the last line of the row title.

LIST

substitutes a list of fields into qualifications.

LOTUS

MEAN

calculates the mean value.

MEDIAN

calculates the median.

MEDRANGE

assigns the numeric range to a row for median calculations.

MR

releases the right margin of a row title.

MXDEFINE

assigns numbers to members of a matrix library.

MXOUT

saves the frequencies and marginal totals calculated in a table.

NET

specifies the first and last rows of net groups.

NG

specifies grouping of rows together for ranking.

NISKP

stops the skip to top of page at the beginning of a table page.

stops automatic column width assignment.

eliminates automatic dash underlining of the column titles.

runs a table without using data.

NODOLLAR

stops the printing of '$' before frequencies.

NOFREQ

stops the printing of frequencies.

NOHP

stops the calculation of horizontal percentages.

NOHPRN

stops the printing of horizontal rank numbers based on horizontal percents.

NOHRN

stops the printing of horizontal rank numbers based on row frequencies.

NOINDEX

stops the printing of index numbers.

NOLF

stops the printing of numeric lines so the last numeric line prints on the same line as the last line of the row title.

NOPCTPLUS

stops the printing of a '+' before each positive percent.

NOPCTS

stops the printing of a '%' after each percentage.

NOPRINT

stops the printing of tables or rows.

NORANK

stops the printing of rows in descending order of frequency for a given column.

NOREXPR

suppresses the evaluation of row expressions.

NOSGTEST

suppresses the calculation of independent and dependent significance tests.

NOSIGMA

stops a row from being used in a SIGMA sum.

NOSPACE

removes the paragraph sign from cells in RTF files created with WORD and WORDALT options.

NOSTAT

overrides STAT option for cells created by statistical qualifications and options.

NOSZR

prints rows or cells for which all frequencies are less than the limit set by EPSILON.

NOTABNO

stops the automatic printing of the table number.

NOTEXPR

stops the evaluation of a table expression.

NOTTEST

stops the calculation of the T-value.

NOVP

stops the printing and calculation of vertical percentages.

NOVPA

stops the printing and calculating of vertical auxiliary percentages.

NOVPRN

stops the printing of vertical rank numbers based on vertical percents.

NOVRN

stops the printing of vertical rank numbers based on column frequencies.

NOWARNING

stops certain warning messages.

NOWEIGHT

stops weighting.

OFF

directs output for printing.

PAGE

assigns a beginning page number.

PCTPLUS

prints a '+' before each positive percentage.

PCTS

prints a '%' after each percentage.

PDIFF

calculates the algebraic difference between the vertical percentages of two table columns.

PDP

controls the number of decimal places printed for percentages.

PEPSILON

sets percent limits for row suppression.

PF

prints percentages as decimals.

PLUS

prints a '+' before positive frequencies.

PRINTVAL

performs row and column expressions on frequencies to be printed rather than the matrix frequencies.

RANK

prints rows in descending order of frequency for a given column.

REPEAT

ROUND

rounds frequencies before calculating percentages.

SCALE

converts codes to values.

SD

computes the standard deviation.

SE

computes the standard error.

SEPW

specifies column separation.

SEQUENCE

changes the order of operations in a table.

SGTEST

tests the significance between column percentages.

SIGMA

sums the frequencies of all rows in a table.

SPACE

controls the vertical spacing between rows.

SPAN

generates rows according to actual data values.

SPANFILTER

filters the generation of rows by the SPAN option.

SPANINS

positions rows created by the SPAN option.

SPANNLZ

suppresses lead zeroes for rows generated by SPAN option.

SPANOPT

applies row options to rows generated by SPAN option.

SPANTITLE

inserts characters into the row titles created by the SPAN option.

STAT

overrides NOFREQ for cells created by statistical qualifications and options.

SUPPRESS

suppresses the printing of tables when bases fall below the specified value.

SZR

stops the printing of rows for which all frequencies are less than or equal to the limit set by EPSILON.

SZRCOL

stops the printing of rows for which the frequency in a specific column is less than or equal to the limit set by EPSILON.

SZRFILL

allows rows otherwise suppressed by SZR or SZRCOL to print with a specified character rather than frequencies.

SZRPRINT

prints rows otherwise suppressed by SZR or SZRCOL, but with blank cells.

TAG

assigns reference labels to columns for significance testing with COMP option.

TCALL

uses all title lines in a table of contents

TCBEGIN

erases an existing table of contents file and starts a new one.

TCEND

ends a table of contents file.

TCNOPAGE

stops the printing of page numbers on a table of contents.

TCNOTABNO

stops the printing of table numbers on a table of contents.

TCONE

prints the first title line in a table of contents.

TCROW

prints the title lines from the row or self-contained tables in a table of contents.

TCSEL

prints selected title lines in a table of contents.

TCWIDTH

formats the space for titles to be printed in a table of contents.

TEXPRESS

evaluates a table expression.
